TRACK CONSTRUCTION

The construction of a H-Bahn track is based on a modular concept: The ready-made columns and beams are assembled on location.

In this way the H-Bahn network at Dortmund University was extended by 1.2 kilometers to the science park located nearby in 2003.

Phase 1: Foundations

First, the foundations for the guideway columns are laid at the planned location. Because of the 25-30 meter distance between two columns, the required space for the guideway is minimal.

Phase 2: Mount the supports

The seperate columns can be erected on the prepared foundations in no time.
Interference with other traffic can be avoided.

Phase 3: Mount the carriageway

Finally, the completely equipped beams are delivered to the location and mounted on the columns.
